Daryl Lynn Ayers, age 52, of West, passed away Monday evening, July 26, 2010 at his residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home by Janice Kaluza, followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Ayers was born on September 23, 1957 in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Robert Jay and Peggy Manell (Kyle) Ayers. He graduated from LaVega High School in 1977, and attended TSTI receiving his Certification in Machine Shop. On November 24, 1984, he was united in marriage to Karen Hoelscher in West. Daryl had worked for General Tire & Rubber Co. for nine years. Since 1987, he had worked for Colorite Plastics in Waco, where he was a core line operator. He loved riding Harley motorcycles, and all sports, especially baseball and football. Watching drag racing was also one of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and his sense of humor will surely be missed. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Ayers, who passed away February 12, 2006. Survivors include his beloved wife of 25 years, Karen Ayers of West; one son, Ethan Ayers of West; his mother, Peggy Ayers of Waco; his father and mother in-law, Eugene and Mattie Hoelscher of West; two brothers, Dennis Ayers and wife Vickie of Hewitt, and Danny Ayers and wife Kathy of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Danny Pickens, Ernest Pickens III, Kenneth Knueppel, Andy Ayers, Clayton Ayers, Arthur Garland, Russ Alexander and Solomon Pevia. Honorary pallbearers are friends and co-workers of Colorite Plastics. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Scholarship Fund for his son Ethan or to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
