Daniel E. Lander

Daniel E. Lander, age 90, of Ross, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at his residence. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Mark Griffin officiating. Daniel was born April 20, 1927 in Elm Mott, the son of Daniel and Emilie (Papendorf) Lander. He attended the old Gerald School and West High School. Daniel served his country with the United States Navy during World War II, prior to entering the United States Marine Corp in 1951 until 1954, during the Korean War. Upon his return, he worked for the Square D Company in Dallas for 30 years before retiring in 1983. Daniel was a member of the West Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4819 and the Waco American Legion Post #121. Taking care of his garden and making his own wine where his great enjoyments. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alice Holzer and Irma Blaschke; brother, Walter Lander; and a nephew, Larry Blaschke. Survivors include a nephew, Ronald Blaschke and wife Jackie of Columbus, Georgia; nieces, Linda Griffin and husband Lynn of China Spring and Karen Lander of Wichita; and many grand nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
