Daniel A. Mynarcik, Sr.

June 8, 1928 — March 22, 2011

Daniel A. Mynarcik, Sr., age 82, of Elm Mott, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, March 22, 2011 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, conducted by West V.F.W. Post No. 4819. Mr. Mynarcik was born June 8, 1928 in West, the son of Joseph J. and Otillie (Macicek) Mynarcik. He attended school in Ross. Dan served his country with the United States Army during the Korean conflict with the 82nd Engineer Battalion. On October 19, 1953 he was united in marriage to Rosemary Korenek in Bellmead. Dan worked for William Cameron and Company in Waco for 41 years before retiring. After that he worked part time for the T.S.T.C. Bookstore, the West Auction Barn, and was a farmer and rancher. Dan was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead where he faithfully attended Eucharistic Adoration. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 7202, R.V.O.S. Lodge, Heart of Texas Square Dancers, American Legion, Geneva Hall, a life member of the K.J.T. Society, and on the Board of Directors of the Central Texas Federal Credit Union. Dan enjoyed going to the casino, listening to Czech music, socializing at Whataburger King, and playing "42". He especially loved his family, attending his son's sporting events, dancing, and being a great father, grandfather, and husband. He never met a stranger and was always a very cheerful person. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Mynarcik; a sister, Victoria Cvikel; and a nephew, Danny Ray Mynarcik. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Rosemary Mynarcik of Elm Mott; two sons, Danny Mynarcik Jr. and wife Lori of Chalk Bluff and David P. Mynarcik of Ft. Worth; two brothers, Joe Mynarcik and wife Margie and Louis Mynarcik and wife Elleanor, all of West; two sisters, Agnes Zatopek and husband Adolph of West and Lily Popp and husband Kenneth of Waco; a brother-in-law, B.J. Korenek and wife Pat; four grandchildren, Amanda Rose Mynarcik, Amy Windham, Adam Bajer, and Amanda Lynn Dennis and husband Steven; two great grandchildren, Hayden and Kinlee; his dog, Spicy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Robert Mynarcik, Jerry Mynarcik, Louis Mynarcik, Larry Mynarcik, Michael Mynarcik, Joey Mynarcik III, Aaron Rieger, and A.J. Rieger. Honorary pallbearers are the Bellmead Knights of Columbus Council No. 7202. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church Building Fund or to St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
