Dan Kramolis, age 77, of Abbott, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, April 23, 2019 at his residence. A rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2019 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Joe Keating as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott, conducted by the West Veterans Honor Guard. Dan was born March 4, 1942 in West, the son of Bob and Antonia (Kolar) Kramolis. He attended the old Alligator School and Abbott Schools. He served his country in Germany with the United States Army. Upon his return he was united in marriage to Willie Mae Machac on November 26, 1965 in Abbott. Dan then received an Associate Degree from McLennan Community College and a Bachelor's degree from Tarleton State University in Applied Art and Sciences. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. Dan was also a member of the American Legion Post #478. He was a Rehabilitation Therapist for the Blind at the Veterans Medical Center in Waco for over 40 years. He also worked for the Abbott Cotton Gin and Fleetwood Mobile Homes in Waco. Dan enjoyed fishing, gardening, taking care of his animals, eating fried chicken, listening to Elvis, and watching Westerns and the History Channel on TV while sitting in his favorite chair. He loved spending time with family, especially picking up his grandsons from school and riding around the yard on his scooter. Dan is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jerry Kramolis; and a sister, Helen Hromadka. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Willie Mae Kramolis of Abbott; his children, Terry Kramolis, Tim Kramolis and Tammie Holecek and husband John, all of Abbott; his grandsons, Wyatt and Lincoln Holecek; a brother, Bobby Kramolis and wife Jeanelle; sisters, Rosalie Kramolis and Barbara Matus and her husband Ed; a sister-in-law, Margaret Kramolis; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Terry Kramolis, John Holecek, Jeff Bladecki, Randy Matus, Milton Flaherty, Ronnie Kaluza, Robert Hutyra, Ryan Kaska, Jerry Don Kramolis and Ervin Middlebrook Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Wyatt Holecek, Lincoln Holecek, Harry Nors, Johnny Pavelka and Steve Baffic. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West VFW Post #4819 or Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
