Dan Foreman

Dan Foreman, age 81, of Gholson, passed away late Sunday evening, March 30, 2014 in Gholson. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Gholson, with Rev. James Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Dan was born January 27, 1933 in Bowie, the son of Harvey W. and Viola (Kimble) Foreman. He was a 1951 graduate of West High School and also attended college for 2 years. On January 26, 1957 Dan was united in marriage to Celia Ann Rich in Gholson. She preceded him in death on August 17, 2010. He was a Civil Engineer working for the H.B. Zachary Company until his retirement in 1983. Dan was a member of First Baptist Church of Gholson, where he was very active singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and also with the First Tuesday Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing dominoes. Dan especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Survivors two sons, Teddie Dayon Foreman of Humble, and David Wayne Foreman and wife Vicki, of San Antonio; a brother, Harold Foreman; three sisters, Betty Johnson, Patricia Williams and Virginia Travis; four grandchildren, Breanna, Eric, Caitlin and Brady; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gholson.
