Coy F. Miller, age 87, of Gholson, Texas died peacefully and went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in Keller. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Coy was born December 20, 1925 in Wichita County, the son of Elijah "Firm" and Melvina (Jowers) Miller. He served his county with the United States Navy where he was stationed at Pearl Harbor through V-J-Day and the end of World War II. Coy returned to Gholson and was united in marriage to Rosie Lee Kissick on September 21, 1946 in Waco. He spent the rest of his life in the Dallas-Fort Worth area providing for his family through entrepreneurship and assembling aircraft at Chance Vaught, Bell Helicopter, and General Dynamics until he retired in 1988. He was deeply spiritual, honest, sincere, loyal, and entertaining. Coy was profoundly patriotic and devoted to conservative principles, which manifested itself in his notably industrious work ethic. His love for America and the State of Texas, its history and geography, made him a living encyclopedia on those topics. Coy's love for his children and grandchildren was marked by his selfless devotion to their activities and interests. Rarely did he miss a football game, soccer game, track meet, or dance recital. Coy was extremely proud of his four grandchildren, and he never passed up an opportunity to brag on each of them. Coy delighted in sharing his many life stories, and his family was always eager to listen. His wisdom and influence will be with all of us forever. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him, especially his loving family. Coy was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sister; Barney, Floyd, Lonnie, and Marvin "Red" Miller and Maxine Graham; and his sweet chow and faithful companion, Copper. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, the love of his life and best friend, Rosie Miller of Gholson; a brother, Ed; his beloved children, Tim Miller and wife Donna of Southlake, and Adelia Vrba and husband Jim of Keller; his adoring grandchildren, Aaron, Nathan, Lyndsey, and Taylor; his great-grandchildren, Brittany, Sydney, Avery, Liam, and Liesl; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Stan Miller, Dean Graham, Tommy Graham, Ronny Graham, Wally Graham and Greg Miller. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
