Cory Delane Stewart, age 47, of Penelope, passed away late Tuesday evening, November 4, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Minister Rusty Kwast officiating. Military honors will be provided by the West Veterans Honor Guard. Graveside services will follow 2:00 p.m. Monday at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Waco. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cory was born November 2, 1967 in Pasadena, the son of Thomas F. and Donna (Isham) Stewart. He was a 1986 graduate of LaVega High School and received an Associate Degree in Laser Technology from T.S.T.C. He served his country with the United States Army National Guard. Cory worked for Lockheed Martin, Stennis Space Center, Raytheon and Space Exploration Technologies. He enjoyed coaching softball, fishing, hunting and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He especially loved spending time with his family, children and grandson. Cory is preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his fianc, Melissa Leeanne Adair of Penelope; his mother, Donna Stewart of Robinson; a daughter, Candice McComb and husband Darin of Cedar Park; a son, Michael Stewart of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson, Joshua McComb; brothers, Al Stewart and Troy Stewart; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Michael Stewart, Cody Stewart, Dustin Stewart, Zachary Stewart, Taylor Stewart, Larry Smith and Darin McComb. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Jung and David Yarbrough. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Penelope Volunteer Fire Department.
