Connie Gail Hanley, age 61, of West, passed away late Thursday morning, April 10, 2014 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with the Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Connie was born January 24, 1953 in Waco, the daughter of John Henry and Mary Ola (Bell) Kruger-Volpert. She was a graduate of University High School in Waco and also attended McLennan Community College. On February 1, 1971 Connie was united in marriage to Denis Michael Hanley Sr. in West. Connie had worked for National Lloyd's Insurance Company and The Wallace Group in Waco and also West Rest Haven. She most recently worked for United Rehab Specialists in Waco until her retirement in November of 2012. She was a Lutheran. Connie loved gardening, working in her yard, going to the lake, camping, the outdoors and water skiing. She especially loved to spend time with her grandkids. Connie is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tori Gordon; her father, John Kruger; her sister, Rea Gilman; and her step-father, Julius Volpert. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Denis Hanley Sr. of Whitney; a son, Denis Hanley Jr. and wife Ronda of Robinson; two daughters, Angela Warren and husband J.P. of Katy, and Dede Gordon of Waco; a brother, Henry Kruger; three sisters, Peggy Conway, Sharon Pilgrim and husband Tom, and Mary Fagan and husband Travis Sr.; four grandchildren, Philip Hanley, Madeline Hanley, Evelyn Warren and Tyler Gordon; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
