Colby, born February 11, 1983 to Theresa (Kimsey) and the late Clint McHargue, cherished his roots in Waco. He was a 2000 graduate of West High School, prior to receiving an associate degree in graphic design from Collins College in Tempe, Arizona. In his unwavering commitment to his country, Colby proudly served with honor in the United States Navy during the global war on terrorism as a Hull Tech. His service inspired his membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4819. For the past six years, Colby worked inside sales for National Wholesale Plumbing Supply in Waco. During his time in the Navy, he also displayed his strength as a bouncer. Colby had a zest for life, finding joy in various activities. He, enjoyed golfing, bull riding, attending rodeos, and relishing the vibrant atmosphere of renaissance festivals. Exploring nature's wonders brought him immense happiness, whether it was floating down the river, camping, kayaking, hunting or fishing. Playing pool at The 308 in Leroy, playing baseball in his younger years and serenading others with his saxophone were among his beloved pastimes. Colby's adventurous spirit led him to try water skiing and skydiving, both of which he embraced fearlessly. He had a deep appreciation for country, red dirt, and outlaw music, and he could often be found singing his heart out to his go-to karaoke song, "They Call Me The Fireman". Colby was known for his kindness and generosity. He never met a stranger, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer the shirt off his back. His infectious smile and warm presence brightened the lives of those around him. Family get-together's held a special place in his heart, as he cherished the moments spent with loved ones. In his final act of selflessness, Colby became an organ donor, providing help and healing to many others.
Surviving Colby is his beloved mother, Theresa McHargue of West, who held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his brother, Chad McHargue of Ocean Springs, MS; and his nephews, Logan, Nathaniel, and Aidan Green. Colby's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his many aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous friends and his Service Dog "Cinch".
