Colby Aaron Hutyra

January 17, 1987 — February 11, 2007

Colby Aaron Hutyra, age 20, of West, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2007 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Waco. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, by Father Anthony Odiong. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Colby was born on January 17, 1987, the son of Johnny Ray and Michelle (Matus) Hutyra. He attended St. Mary's School and graduated from West High School in 2005. Colby loved playing his guitar with Chris, and playing soccer with Jose and his friends. He also enjoyed fishing, going to the coast, and playing with his beloved dog "Bo". Colby worked for DHL in Waco and was currently employed by Jupe Mills in West. He was a member of Knight of Columbus Council #2305 and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Survivors include his parents, Johnny Ray and Michelle Hutyra; one brother, Derek Hutyra; one sister, Brianna Hutyra; maternal grandparents, Herman and JoAnn Matus; paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Mary Ann Hutyra; and godparents, Freddie and Janice Kaluza, all of West; many aunts and uncles, Ronnie and Carol Matus, David and Susan Matus, Kenneth Matus, Richard and Patricia Holy, Michael and Stephanie Matus, David and Joy Hutyra, and David and Doris Stewart; his beloved dog, "Bo"; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Active pallbearers are Nathan Kaluza, Adam Matus, Kyle Kucera, Matt Matus, Jonathan Holy, Chris Hutyra, Keith Hutyra, Jose Chavez, Jody Brisco, Chris Fortune, Mark Sinkule, Omar Perez, and Matt Saldierna. Honorary pallbearers will be the Class of 2005 and all his cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for Derek and Brianna.
