Cody Frank Dragoo, age 50, of West, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, while providing the ultimate sacrifice to the Community of West. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday April 30, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Cody will lie in state beginning 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at Aderhold Funeral Home. Cody was born October 15, 1962 in Billings, Montana, the son of Christopher Clyde and Mildred (Rogers) Dragoo. Cody graduated from Montana State with a degree in Agriculture. On May 03, 1997, he was united in marriage to Patty Mynar. He has been employed with the West Chemical and Fertilizer Plant for many years. A member of the West Volunteer Fire Department, Cody was very involved with the annual VFD BBQ cook-off fund raiser and organized the tractor pulls in West. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, watching NASCAR, and being with family and friends.He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305, and the President of the Cottonwood Water Supply. Cody was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tom Dragoo. Survivors include his beloved wife, Patty Dragoo of West; sisters, Shirley McDonnell and husband, Matt, of Billings, Montana and Loretta Fisher and husband, Richard, of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, Gary Berger of West; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Ron Sumner of Houston, David and Janet Mynar of Midlothian, Michael & Natalie Mynar of Weatherford, Susan and James Miller of West, and Cindy and Tony Kubacak of West; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. Active pallbearers will be Michael Wayne Berger, Joshua Mynar, Travis Mynar, Coy Miller, Dale Sembera, Kevin Maler, Mike Haddix, Chase Beyrand, Steve Berger, and Andrew Webre. Honorary pallbearers will be the West Volunteer Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Fire Department.
