Clyde T. Vrba, age 75, of Leroy, passed away Thursday morning, March 7, 2024 at home with his family by his side.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Pastor Shane Mayberry officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Clyde was born February 10, 1949 in Waco, the son of August and Elsie (Novak) Vrba. He graduated from Axtell High School, prior to attending Electrical Trade School. On December 4, 1971 he was united in marriage to Debora "Debbie" Weissinger at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead. Clyde proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He worked as a Master Electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local #72 for many years. Clyde enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, taking hunting trips to Colorado, and playing dominoes and shooting pool. He loved going to the rodeo, parades, and trail rides. Clyde enjoyed antique cars and going to car shows in the area. In his later years, he loved buying things, tinkering with and fixing them up. He was very active in the lives of his children and grandchildren and loved taking them camping and out on the boat. He was a valuable person to many, known for his willingness to help family and friends.
Clyde is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Uptmor; a brother-in-law, Charles Thompson; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Ann and Herman Straten.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Debbie Vrba of Leroy; his children, Brian Vrba and Kelley Kolar of West and Tracie and Shane Mayberry of Waco; five grandchildren, Kendra and Addison Vrba, Kohen Mayberry, Faith and Andrew Fowler, and Emberlynn Mayberry; a great-grandson, Hudson Fowler; a sister, Rose and Tommy Svrcek; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Thompson; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Uptmor; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers are Kohen Mayberry, Andrew Fowler, Nick Straten, Matthew Stem, Matt Carey, Kenneth Gatlin, Troy Willenborg and Jerry Willenborg. Honorary pallbearers are Jimbo McCoy and John Carlile Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Cemetery Association.
