January 5, 1931 — May 15, 2023

Clarence Walter Talley Jr., age 92, of Spicewood, formerly of West, passed away Monday evening, May 15, 2023 in Horseshoe Bay.

A celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.

Clarence was born January 5, 1931 in the Hill County community of Birome, the son of Annie (Conner) and Clarence Talley Sr. He attended school in Abbott and was a 1949 graduate of West High School. On October 20, 1963 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Barbara Archer in West. Clarence proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War, where he spent a portion of his service guarding President Dwight Eisenhower’s son, David. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #4819 in West. Clarence was the owner and operator for Cen-Tex Feed and Grain in West for over 50 years before retiring in 1998. The farmer's he served were "number one" and he loved them like family. He then continued to work for Jupe Mills in West until the age of 88. Clarence was a heck of a domino and Poker player and enjoyed life by working hard and spending good times with good friends. He enjoyed having friends and family over for food (that he prepared), cocktails, and sharing all of life's stories. He was a very generous and loving husband, father, and grandfather and being with them is what he loved most of all.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lavetra Nichols.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Barbara Talley of Spicewood; his children, Ann Rowe and husband Stuart of Spicewood, Kevin Talley of Austin, and Amy Davis and husband Lance of Spicewood; his grandson and the joy of his life, Jackson Bennett Davis; a niece, Cheryl Merenda and husband Herb; a brother-in-law, Clifford Archer and wife Bonnie; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
