Clarence Odell Haas, age 84, of West, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 22, 2013 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Bold Springs Cemetery with Dr. John Crowder officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Odell was born April 15, 1929 in West, the son of Stephen and Pearl (Johnson) Haas. He was a 1949 graduate of West High School and a graduate of 4-C Business College in Waco. He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War with the 45th Division, 279th Infantry. Odell was an accountant and bookkeeper for Armor & Company in Waco and Burris Mills in Dallas. Odell is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James E. Haas and Lonnie Smith. Survivors include many cousins, including Shirley Reed of West, Gary Johnson of Angleton and Helon Sullins of Vaughan; many friends, including John and Alison Hurtick and Wencie Holasek, all of West; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund or the charity of your choice.
