Clara Mae (Gaidusek) Farmer, age 78, of West, formerly of Arlington, passed away early Thursday evening, February 1, 2007 at West Rest Haven in West. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cemetery in West, with Minister Terry Slack officiating. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Northwest Church of Christ in Arlington. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mrs. Farmer was born on January 3, 1929 in West, the daughter of Joe and Marie (Zatopek) Gaidusek. She graduated from West High School in 1947 and Providence Nursing School in 1950. On April 21, 1951, she was united in marriage to Robert Boyd Farmer in West. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over fifty years, working for All Saints Hospital in Ft. Worth and also doing private duty nursing. She assisted in the first knee replacement surgery in Corpus Christi in the 1960's. Clara enjoyed entertaining guests, cooking, and working in her garden. She was a member of Northwest Church of Christ in Arlington. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Johnnie Gaidusek. Survivors include her husband Robert Farmer of Arlington; one son, Kenneth Ray Farmer and his wife Morgan of Euless; two daughters, Pat Collins and her husband Jim of Fort Worth, and Linette Teske and her husband Kirk of Arlington; one brother; Bernard Gaidusek ; four grandchildren, Kaitlin Teske, Austin Teske, Bryan Collins, and Chelsea Collins; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
