Christine T. (Hynek) Beseda, age 83, of Penelope, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Msgr. Publius Xuereb and Rev. Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrants, assisted by Deacon Denver Crawley. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. Mrs. Beseda was born June 1, 1930 in Tokio, the daughter of Vaclav J. and Theresa "Grace" (Marek) Hynek. She was a 1947 graduate of West High School. On May 2, 1949 she was united in marriage to Henry W. Beseda Sr. in West. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1988. Christine was a homemaker and operated the family farm alongside her husband for most of her life. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She was also a member of the K.J.Z.T. Society #104 and the Altar Society, both in Abbott. Christine enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, quilting, dancing, and caring for her children and grandchildren. She especially loved spending time with her family. Christine is also preceded in death by her parents; son, William J. Beseda; brothers, Joe Hynek and Johnie Hynek; and sisters, Mary Polansky and Hattie Svrcek. Survivors include four sons, Charles Beseda and wife D.J. of Penelope, Henry Beseda Jr. and wife Elsie of Eddy, John Beseda and wife Linda of West, and Joe Beseda of Penelope; seven daughters, Janice Veselka and husband Joe of Penelope, Frances McConnell and husband Vincent of Kingwood, Mary Doyle and husband Jim of Dallas, Chris Kornegay and husband Jim of Allen, Helen Airitam and husband Scott of Rowlett, Margaret Perry and husband Scott of Flower Mound, and Jo Ann Brem and husband Larry of West; 27 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are grandsons, Daniel Veselka, Aaron Beseda, Matthew Beseda, Paul McConnell, John Beseda, Ryan Kornegay, Lance Brem, Adam Beseda, Thomas McConnell, Ryan Beseda, Jeffrey Beseda, Trent Perry, Anthony Kornegay and Jacob Perry. Altar servers are grandsons, James Veselka and Aric Airitam. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
