Christine Gismant

Christine "Sue" Rendek Gismant, age 89, of Gunter, formerly of West, passed away Friday morning, October 19, 2007 at Hilltop Haven in Gunter. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. B. George officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 11:30 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Christine was born on March 8, 1918 in West, the daughter of Lawrence and Terezia (Vanek) Rendek. She attended schools in the West area. Christine was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed walking, gardening, bicycling, and dancing, especially the Czech polka's. She is preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Rendek, Ernest Rendek and Lawrence Rendek. Survivors include one son, Ernest Ralph Gismant II and wife Rhodora of Mesquite; two daughters, Linda Sue Trammell of Dallas and Debra Lynn Pruitt of Frisco; three sisters, Irene Zaskoda, Regina Heckler, and Tresa Compton; four grandchildren, Derek Paul Trammell, Lindsay Renee Trammell, David Pruitt, and Sarah Pruitt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Ernest Gismant II, Derek Trammell, David Pruitt, Jerry Zaskoda, Larry Heckler, and Johnny Zaskoda. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
