Christine Chudej

Christine "Tina" Chudej, age 99, of West, passed away Tuesday morning, March 5, 2013 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 2:30 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Janice Kaluza. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, with Rev. Boniface Onjefu officiating. Mrs. Chudej was born January 2, 1914 in West, the daughter of John F. and Marie (Hejl) Novak. She attended school in Tokio. On October 17, 1934 she was united in marriage to William V. Chudej in West. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1978. Tina was a Certified Nurse's Aide at West Rest Haven for over 20 years. Along with her husband, she was a farmer in the Tokio area and also did some babysitting. Tina was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the K.J.Z.T. St. Ludmila Society #11. Tina enjoyed working in her yard, shopping, cooking and gardening. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Tina is also preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mary Nors and Lillie Chudej. Survivors include sisters-in-law, Evelyn Chudej and Henrietta Chudej;nieces, Lillie Marie Matus, Henrietta Gerik, Pat Lee, Judy Kudelka and husband James, Evelyn Karcher and husband David, Kathy Kilgore and Helen Vrba and husband Ray; nephews, Raymond Chudej, Jr. and wife Barbara, Ben Hubenak and wife Sandra, Eddie Chudej, Jerry Chudej and wife Mary Lou, Louis Gajdosik and wife Pam, and Bill Nors and wife Beatrice; and many other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Louis Gajdosik, Jerry Chudej, Ben Hubenak, Eddie Chudej, Chris Matus and Richard Nors. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Nors, Jason Matus and Ty Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
