Charlie V. Kolar, age 57 of West, passed away early Monday afternoon, May 21, 2007 at his residence. The family will receive visitors 6:00 p.m. Tuesday followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. Charlie was born September 13, 1949 in Waco, the son of Vitus William and Rosalie (Polansky) Kolar. He attended St. Mary's School and graduated from West High School in 1967. He attended Texas State Technical College and graduated in 1969 with a degree in automotive technology. On June 14, 1969 he was united in marriage to Linda (Hanak) Kolar. Charlie worked for Kozelski Motors in West and BirdKultgen Ford for 37 years as an assistant service manager. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, playing pool, and working on cars in his shop. Charlie also loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Knights of Columbus # 2305, KJT Society #31, and the American Pool Association. He was also a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. He is preceded in death by his father, Vitus W. Kolar; a brother, James Kolar; a sister, Rose Marie Kolar; a nephew, Derek Kolar, his father-in-law, Otto J. Hanak, and a sister-in-law, Lana Pavlicek. Survivors include his beloved wife of 37 years, Linda Kolar of West; his son, Kody Kolar of West; two daughters, Kelley Kolar and Brian Vrba of West and Kristy Owens and husband Kevin of West; his mother, Rosalie Kolar of West; three brothers, Raymond Kolar and wife Patricia of West, Harry Kolar and wife Odilia of Leroy, and Tommy Kolar of Waco; three sisters, Carolyn Kolar of San Antonio, Mary Jane Sustala and husband Dennis of Abbott, and Lillian Macy and husband Keith of Flower Mound; a sister-in-law, Karen Kolar of Abbott; his mother-in-law, Pauline Hanak of West; his brothers-in-law, Otto H. Hanak of Brenham and Larry Pavlicek of McKinney; his sister-in-law, Bettie Kupcak of Hewitt; one granddaughter, Kendra Vrba; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Active pallbearers are Bryan Kolar, Chad Kolar, Brent Kolar, Jeremy Kolar, Craig Sustala, Keith Macy, Jr, Jared Kupcak, and Marc Hanak. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Bird-Kultgen Ford, Inc. and his APA Team. Memorials may be made to the Justin Waters Scholarship Fund, the Nick Muska Scholarship Fund, or to St. Martin's Catholic Church Building Fund.
