Charlie G. Young

Charlie G. Young, age 78 of West, passed away Monday afternoon, June 25, 2007 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Rosary will be recited 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27th at Kotch Funeral Home in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West; with Rev. Ed Karasek, as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Young was born February 15, 1929 in McLennan County and had lived in Waco for a number of years where he graduated as valedictorian of University High School class of 1947. He was the first graduate of the technical school at University High. He was a veteran serving in the Army. He married Josephine Sulak, June 1, 1957 at West and they moved between Rogers Hill and Tokio in December 1963. Mr. Young was employed with Young Brothers Construction Co., as a asphalt plant Forman for twenty seven years. After retiring he was a farmer and hay baler. Mr. Young was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West. He is survived by his wife Josephine of West; a daughter, Charlotte Howard and husband Robert of Tokio; three sons, Rodney Young and wife Rebecca of Rogers Hill, Dwayne Young and wife Christine and Timothy Young of Tokio; two sisters Helen Ballew and husband Randall of Gholson and Marie Dunlap of Elm Mott; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers are Lawrence Doskocil, Greg Doskocil, Shawn Young, William Dunlap Jr., Randall Ballew and Robert Howard. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center in West or to a charity of your choice.
