Charles Trammell

Charles Ray Trammell, age 76, of Conroe, formerly of West, went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, August 16, 2014 surrounded by loving family at his residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Steve Peace officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Charles was born September 20, 1937 in West, the son of the late Bennie and Edith (Beard) Trammell. He attended school in West and was a 1956 graduate of West High School, where he was affectionately known as "Chubby." He served his country with the United States Naval Reserves. He was married to the former Patricia Wolters from 1960 to 1979. Charles was in management at Winn's Stores Inc. for 33 years and at Hobby Lobby for over 10 years, before retiring in 2006. Survivors include his beloved wife of 32 years, Barbara Trammell of Conroe; three sons, Kevin Trammell and wife Alice of Ocala, Florida, Keith Trammell of Seguin and Kyle Trammell and wife Bessie of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Kerri Prince and husband Kevin of San Antonio and Kaci Ridgeway and husband Austin of Seguin; grandchildren; Matthew Trammell, Jocelyn Trammell Snyder, Tye Ridgeway, Jordan Ridgeway, Kameron Ridgeway, Victoria Prince, Garrett Prince, Chandler Trammell, Brandon Trammell, David Jannasch and his significant other Kayla, and Kristian Garrison and husband Patrick; great grandchildren, Talia Snyder, Addison Campbell, Cadence Atkins, Layla Jannasch, Kyleigh Jannasch, Dax Garrison and Austin Garrison; brother-in-law, Bruce Barneburg and wife Donna; and sister-in-law, Tina Hultgren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Randy Betts, John Schumacher, Ralph Fierro, Bob Adams, Robert Matus, Curtis Webb, and Charles McCoy (honorary). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center through www.givingatmdanderson.org, or to the organization of your choice working towards recovery of the city of West.
