Charles R. Wedeking

Charles R. Wedeking, age 66, of Waco, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, December 4, 2007 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Burial will follow at Closner Cemetery with military honors conducted by West V.F.W. Post 4819. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Charles was born September 1, 1941 in Waco, the son of Fritz and Minnie (Hessel) Wedeking. He attended schools in West and was a 1959 graduate of West High School. He then served his country with the United States Navy aboard the USS Constellation during Vietnam. On November 11, 1967 he was united in marriage to Estelle Matus in Bellmead. Charles was an elevator mechanic for Dover Elevators for over 25 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 21 in Waco and the USS Constellation Association, a group which he enjoyed a reunion with each year. His parents and a son, Eric Charles Wedeking preceded him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 40 years, Estelle Wedeking; a son, Darren Lane Wedeking and wife Shelley of Lorena; a brother, Donald Wayne Wedeking and wife Marie of Troupe; a sister, JoAnn Guin and husband James of Waco; a granddaughter, Katelyn Wedeking; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Texas Oncology Research Center in Waco or the charity of your choice.
