Charles E. Kirkpatrick Sr., age 78, of West, passed away Sunday evening, October 29, 2023 at his residence.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at The Tokio Store, 343 Tokio Loop, West, TX 76691.
Charles was born February 6, 1945 in Waco, the son of Delton and Georgia Kruger. He attended schools in Waco. On December 16, 1991 he was united in marriage to Deborah Squyres Wilson in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Charles proudly served his country with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. As a disabled veteran he was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #1012 in Waco, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion Post #522 in Whitney. He was an independent trucker and owned C & D Trucking for many years. He and Deborah operated The Tokio Store and always enjoyed the time they spent with friends and the community. Charles also enjoyed fishing, traveling, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and being on the road. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 32 years, Deborah Kirkpatrick of West; his children, Shona Kennedy and husband Eddie of Wichita Falls, Charles "Chuck" Kirkpatrick Jr. and wife Melinda of West, Nickole Kirkpatrick of West, Melissa Hocker and husband Todd of Azle, and Kyle Wilson and wife Yvette of Tucson, AZ; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother and sister; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
