Charles D. Fabian, age 85 of Penelope, passed away Tuesday morning, August 14, 2007 in West Rest Haven. Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Kotch Funeral Home in West; with a Rosary recited by Father B. George at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at the Catholic Church of Nativity B.V.M. in Penelope, with Father Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery near Penelope. Mr. Fabian was born September 8, 1921 in Hill County and lived in the Penelope area most os his life. He was a member of the Catholic Church of Nativity B.V.M. in Penelope and was a self employed contractor as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Fabian was a veteran of WW II, having served in the Army and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He enjoyed reading, watching Wheel of Fortune and loved to work in the dirt. He married Mary Ann Firasek on August 21, 1958 in Waco. Mr. Fabian is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Penelope; a son, Glenn Fabian and wife, Ann of West; two daughters, Karen Osborne and husband, Ronald of Penelope, and Janet Blattman and husband Scott of China Spring; two brothers, George Fabian and wife, Faye of Dallas, and Henry Fabian and wife, Fran of Humble; a sister, Edith Cross of Ft. Worth; eight grandchildren, Audra, Ethan and Kevin Osborne, Kristina and Spencer Fabian, Brianna, Danielle and Scotty Blattman; and several nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers will be Benny Firasek, Roy Janek, Don Fabian, David Fabian, Gary Fabian and Henry Fabian Jr.
