William "Carroll" Middleton, age 81, of Waco, passed away Sunday morning, December 21, 2008 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by West V.F.W. Post No. 4819. Private burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco. The family will receive visitors from 1:30 p.m. Tuesday until service time. Mr. Middleton was born May 20, 1927, the son of Lester and Ida (Mladenka) Middleton. He attended schools in Mart. Carroll served his country with the United States Army during World War II. He worked in road construction, building highways all over Texas, for over 45 years before retiring in 1992. Carroll enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and picking pecans. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Burleson. His parents and three brothers, George W. Middleton, Truman L. Middleton, and Alton Middleton, preceded him in death. Survivors include a daughter, Terry Lynn Dodd of Elm Mott; a step-daughter, Sandra Scheler and husband Eddie Ray of Elm Mott; a grandson, Rowdy Dodd; a sister-in-law, Agnes Middleton of Tours; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Friends for Life. Memorials may be made to Friends for Life. Pallbearers are Lynn Middleton, Joe Middleton, and Randall Middleton.
