Carrie Tobola

October 31, 1919 — December 23, 2005

Carrie (Olsovsky) Tobola, age 86, of West, passed away early Friday morning, December 23, 2005 at Providence Hospital in Waco. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Frank Miller as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery near Tours. Mrs. Tobola was born on October 31, 1919 in Elm Mott, the daughter of Adolf and Millie (Kracmer) Olsovsky. She attended school in Gerald. On October 31, 1949 in Tours, she was united in marriage to John Ernest Tobola. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2001. Carrie enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, listening to Czech music, and visiting with family and friends. She also loved her cat, Ashley. She was a member of St. Martin's Senior Group and St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. A brother, Albert L. Olsovsky, who died on October 1, 1999, also precedes her in death. Survivors include one son, Robert J. Tobola of West; four daughters, Irene Schiemenz and husband Robert of Gholson, Pauline Hoelscher and husband Larry of Westphalia, Eileen Lyster and husband Thomas of Waco and Dorene Soukup and husband Alvin of West; one sister, Pauline Tankersley of Waco; eight grandchildren, including Terrie Griffith who was her caregiver and special granddaughter; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relative and friends. Active pallbearers will be Mark Kostecka, Bobby Kostecka, Michael Kostecka, James Kostecka, Albert Olsovsky, and James Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Billy D. Pierce, Dr. Charles Shoultz II, and the nurses and staff of Providence Congestive Heart Failure Clinic. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic in care of the Providence Foundation.
