Carolyn Whitley Morgan, age 73, of West, passed away late Friday night, March 28, 2008 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Morgan was born April 18, 1934 in Waco the daughter of Truett and Lela Fay (Neill) Sorley. She attended schools in Waco and was a 1952 graduate of Waco High School. On February 2, 1952 she was united in marriage to Jimmie R. Whitley in Waco. He preceded her in death in July 1992. She then married Milton C. "Poone" Morgan on August 9, 2003 in West. Carolyn was a bookkeeper for Dan's Dairy Queen in Waco for over 27 years before retiring in 2003. She enjoyed fishing, painting, dancing, listening to polka music, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of West. Survivors include her beloved husband, Poone Morgan of West; two sons, Jimmy Whitley and his wife Michelle of Houston and David Whitley and his wife Patricia of Humble; one daughter, Pam Pavlica and her husband Davy of Auburn, California; one brother, Truett Sorley and his wife Jeannie of Houston; five grandchildren, Brandon Whitley, Becca Whitley, Matthew Whitley, Kelly Pavlica, and John Pavlica; one great-grandchild on the way; special friends, James and Marcelias Klien; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends of Poone and Carolyn. Pallbearers are Mike Mynarcik, David Scott, Larry Sparks, Don Hancock, Melvin Coleman, and Donald Cernosek. Memorials may be made to the West Athletic Booster Club or the West Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund.
