Carolyn Spear

Carolyn (Kerbow) Spear, age 80, of Waco, passed away Sunday evening, September 15, 2024 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Maypearl Cemetery in Maypearl, with Brandon Spear speaking. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.

Carolyn was born August 23, 1944 in DeRidder, Louisiana, the daughter of Henry and Nettie (McMullen) Kerbow. She attended schools in DeRidder. On April 23, 1963 she was united in marriage to James Spear in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Carolyn enjoyed cooking, sewing, collecting dolls, making clothing for dolls, crocheting, and painting. She especially loved spending time with family and friends.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Spear; a daughter-in-law, Tracy Spear; and her brothers-in-law, Robert Spear and Darrell Sonnier.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 61 years, James Spear of Waco; her children, Kimberly Spear, Deanna Hobbs, and Alan Spear; her grandchildren, Courtney Spear, Shawn Hobbs, Lindsey Hobbs, Melissa Hobbs, Amanda Hobbs, Sara Hobbs, and Katlyn Spear; her great grandchildren, Audrey, Samuel, Bradley, and Noah Hobbs; her siblings, Georgia Spear, Melba Sonnier, and Pamela McMullen; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
