Carolyn Horn, age 74, of Elk, passed away late Tuesday evening, May 8, 2018 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018 at Gerald Cemetery near Leroy, with Rev. Rick Cundieff officiating. Carolyn was born June 28, 1943 in Jayton, the daughter of Ernest and Edna (Ross) Lee. She attended schools in Jayton and Spur. On February 2, 1978 she married the love of her life, Clarence "C.R." Horn in Lubbock. Carolyn and C.R. happily and lovingly owned and operated Horn Mobile Homes for over 40 years in Lubbock, Waco and Ranger. In between dealerships they were house parents at the Methodist Children's Home for over 10 years. C.R. preceded her in death on January 16, 2012. Carolyn was a very active and faithful member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church where she served as the church treasurer. She enjoyed researching genealogy, working outdoors, mowing her grass, photography and taking care of her goats. Carolyn is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Orville Lee; and a sister, Louise Rains. Survivors include her sons, Dalton Williams, Paul "David" Horn and wife Debora, Timothy Ray Horn and wife Kay, and Tyron Horn; a daughter, Tanna Lazaroff; a sister-in-law, Betty Foster; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prairie Hill Baptist Church.
