Carolyn Hill

Carolyn Ann (Culverhouse) Hill, age 81, of Elm Mott, passed away early Thursday afternoon, April 20, 2023 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with David Bonnett officiating. Burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Carolyn was born September 23, 1941 in Rogers, Texas, the daughter of Ernest and Alyne (Ashcraft) Culverhouse. She was a 1960 graduate of West High School. On September 2, 1960 she was united in marriage to Jim Hill in Elm Mott. Jim preceded her in death on December 15, 1989. Carolyn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elm Mott and the Texas Association of Single Adults, where she served as secretary. She was a homemaker, Mother, worked for American Amicable in Waco, and was a regional manager for Dairy Queen for many years. Carolyn enjoyed sewing, cake decorating, crafting, playing "42" dominoes, and dancing at Geneva Hall, Melody Ranch and the Sul Ross Center in Waco. She loved spending time with her family, organizing family get together's, cooking your favorite meal and cake for all birthday's, and decorating for Christmas.

Carolyn is also preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Ernestyne Young and Patsy Smith; and her son-in-law, Kenny Kunkel.

Survivors include her children, Bill Hill of Arlington, Julie Kunkel of Elm Mott, and Sherri Hill of West; her grandsons, Karl Kunkel and wife Sara and Kurt Kunkel and wife Erika; her great grandchildren, Jodi, Alec, Lane, Spencer, and Sloane Kunkel; her longtime companion of 24 years, George Holman; two sisters, Martha Cagle and Linda Boudreau and husband Phil; two brothers, Gary Culverhouse and wife Beth and Ernest Culverhouse Jr. and wife Shirley; a brother-in-law, James Young; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are Karl Kunkel, Kurt Kunkel, Alec Kunkel, Lane Kunkel, Cameron Harwell, Edward Smith, Tristan Harwell, and Jeffery Culverhouse. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Hospice or Gholson Cemetery Association.
