Carla Allen

Carla Anne Allen, age 65, of West, passed away peacefully late Saturday evening, October 23, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was greeted by her Savior after a long 16 year battle with cancer. Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at First Baptist Church of West in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are encouraged at the service. Carla was born October 10, 1956 in Waco, the daughter of Joseph Donavan Holt and Patricia Jean Copeland. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Steve Allen on October 17, 1998 and were together for a total of 31 years until death they did part. Together they raised three children and a wonderful grandson, Gage Allen. Not to mention the role she played as a second mom to so many. She was a very faithful member of the First Baptist Church in West, where she served as the Ministry Assistant to Dr. John Crowder and she considered her church family to be her second family. Carla attended Tarleton State University where she graduated with honors and was Summa Cum Laude. She worked for several years at Texas Farm Bureau, then for Baylor University Law School for the professors, and retiring from L3 Technologies. She was known as a warrior who never stopped fighting, was a light in a dark world and her laugh and love for life was so contagious. She will be greatly missed. Carla is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ross Fitch. Survivors include her beloved husband, Steve Allen of West; her children, DeAnna Jo Morrow, Tonya Morrow, and Derrick Edwards; brothers and sisters, John Q. Fitch Jr., William "Bill" Fitch, Shelly Holt Haddock and Debra Bagley; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, adoring nieces and nephews, friends and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of West Building Fund.
