Carl R. Patterson

Carl R. Patterson, age 89, of West, passed away late Friday evening, June 7, 2013 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Eric Patterson officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Carl was born June 23, 1923 in Osage, the son of Zillion and Exie Mae (Huddleson) Patterson. He attended schools in Osage. Carl served his country with the United States Army during World War II. On March 4, 1943 he was united in marriage to Anna Mae Patrick in Waco. She preceded him in death on September 3, 2010. Carl was a welder for Mosley Machine Company in Waco for 36 years before retiring in 1987. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed eating Kentucky Fried Chicken, farming and hunting. Carl was also preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Annie Lee Niemier; and brothers, Harold Patterson, Carmen Patterson, Robert Earl Patterson and Bernie Joe Patterson. Survivors include two daughters, Gerry Mulligan of Waco and Shirley Robinson of West; two sons, Bobby Patterson and wife Jan of Lacy Lakeview and James Brent Patterson and wife Mary of Glen Rose; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Patterson; sister-in-law, Lydia Mae Patterson; grandchildren, Shari Brodeur and husband Chris, Amanda Patterson, Lance Patterson, Eric Patterson and wife Auriel, Brian Robinson, and Samantha Patterson and fianc Marshall Powledge; a great-grandchild, Charlee Grace and two on the way; his dog, Roscoe; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
