Cara Croll Taylor, age 36, of West, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 2008 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near West. Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in West, with Rev. Ann Hitt, Rev. Ben Younger, Rev. Billy Mac Patteson, and Msgr. Isidore Rozycki officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cara was born on March 18, 1972 in Columbia, Missouri, the daughter of John and Marsha (Lane) Croll. She attended school in Hannibal, Missouri, before moving to West and graduating from West High School in 1990, where she played in the band and was a cheerleader. On October 20, 2001 she was united in marriage to Max Taylor in Salado. She was a homemaker, but also worked part-time for her father at the Mid Texas Veterinary Clinic, and also for M&M Tire Sales in Elm Mott. Cara was a member of First United Methodist Church in West. She enjoyed gardening and attending her brothers sporting events. Cara is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Peggy Lane and her paternal grandfather, John A. Croll. Survivors include her husband, Max Taylor of West; her parents, Dr. John and Marsha Croll of West; her step-daughters, Brooks and Morgan Taylor, both of West; her brothers who she loved dearly, Daniel Croll and wife Rachel of Houston, and Robert Croll of Austin; her maternal grandfather, William Lane of Laddonia, Missouri; her paternal grandmother, Emmy Croll of Columbia, Missouri; her mother-in-law, Lavon Taylor of Waco; her sister-in-law, Kay Kramer of Waco; and several aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an education fund for her step-daughters, Brooks and Morgan Taylor.
