Callie Marek, age 81, of West, passed away late Sunday evening, May 9, 2021 at West Rest Haven in West. Graveside Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Closner Cemetery near West, with Rev. Lilly Leman officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are encouraged at all services. Callie was born November 14, 1939 in Post, the daughter of Robert and Icie (Browning) Densman. She attended school in Mosheim. On December 30, 1981 she was united in marriage to Frankie Marek in Hillsboro. Callie was a member of the First United Church. She worked for Texas Home Health and for Gerling Home Health for many years. Callie enjoyed shopping, going to garage sales, feeding the birds, watching the Bold and the Beautiful, drinking a few beers, dancing, listening to country music, and tending to her animals, especially her dogs, Skittles, Shelby and Meme. She loved BBQ's, the outdoors and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Xavion, Shailyn, Destiny, Gabriel and Caleb. Callie is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny Ray Harris; stepsons, Donald Ray "Doc" Marek and Jeffrey Michael Marek; sisters, Joyce Densman, Mary Sexton, and Shirley Winkle; brothers, Ernest, Johnny, Carl, Leroy, and Clayton Densman; and a step great grandson, Jacob Bates. Survivors include her beloved husband of 41 years, Frankie Marek of West; a daughter, Bonnie Brown and husband Boy Shun Murry; stepchildren, Robert "Bert" Marek and girlfriend Becky Miciotto, Lisa Click and husband Paul, Nadine Johnson and husband Randy, Michael Marek, and Garry Marek; grandchildren, Jamie Williams, Tarrah Harrison and husband Michael, and Aaron Jones and wife Stormie; 16 step grandchildren; 23 step great grandchildren; sisters, Nelda Ashley, Kathy Bartley, Carolyn Bartley, and Brenda Bennett; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Xavion Harris and Gabriel Thompson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Ambulance Association or to Closner Cemetery Association.
