Bradley William Pogue, Sr., age 79, of Gholson, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 20, 2017 at his residence. ATTENTION CHANGE: Due to weather, services for Bradley Pogue have been changed to 10 a.m. Saturday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Gholson Cemetery, with Rev. Steve Putman officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Bradley was born August 29, 1937 in Marfa, the son of the late William and Viola "Tootsie" (Shaw) Pogue. He attended Gholson school and graduated from West High School prior to attending Baylor University. On September 16, 1966, he was united in marriage to Betty Bolden in Waco. Bradley was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Gholson. He worked in construction for Young Brothers for over 10 years until his retirement in 1979. Bradley enjoyed coon hunting, raising show rabbits and woodworking. He especially loved spending time with his friends at the Waco Flea Markets. Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Betty Pogue of Gholson; children, Brad Pogue, Jr. and wife Melissa of West, Roger Pogue and wife Theresa of Chalk Bluff, Michael Pogue and wife Shawnette of Ross and Sheryl Reid and husband Scott of Gholson; a sister, Darlene Baker and husband Charles; grandchildren, Brian, Connor, Haley, Brandon, Kourtney, Kassidy, Randa and Elizabeth; several great grand children; his dogs, Pepper and Monster; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Encompass Home Health in Hillsboro for their care and kindness.
