Gunnery Sergeant Bradley W. Tufts, USMC, age 36, of San Antonio, formerly of West, God graciously took our most beloved Marine home on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the University Medical Center in San Antonio. God needed another Marine to stand watch. Funeral Services will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday August 8, 2022 at St. Martin's Church in Tours, with Chaplain Holly Short USN, officiating. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery conducted by Company H Honor Guard from San Antonio. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Bradley was born December 29, 1985 in Whitney, the son of Buddy and Frances (Oldham) Tufts. He attended school in West and was a 2004 graduate of West High School. On March 16, 2013 he was united in marriage to Amber Eastham in West. Bradley proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp entering in January of 2005 and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He loved being a Marine, mentoring to many of his brothers and made many deployments including Iraq, Afghanistan, Honduras, Guatemala, MEU and El Salvador. Bradley enjoyed activities at his local VFW Club, hunting, working on cars, and starting (but not necessarily finishing) projects. Bradley was the definition of a loving family man, with his son being the light of his world. He loved all animals and would lovingly harass them until they loved him back. Bradley is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl Oldham and Usa-Lee and Ware "Gilbert" Tufts; uncles, Benny Tufts and Harold Oldham; and cousins, Donny Elston and Amanda Oldham. Survivors include his beloved wife of 9 years, Amber Tufts; his children, Raylan Tufts and Marlie Gardner, all of San Antonio; his parents, Buddy and Frances Tufts of West; a brother, Brandon Tufts; his maternal grandmother, Frances Oldham; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Fire Department or the Semper Fi Fund. Pallbearers are Brian Mechell, Charlie "Alex" Wolf, Bradley Dunninger, Justin Filer, Tyler Couch, Michael Boyer, and John Carlile.
