Brad Gilbert

June 9, 1964 — February 12, 2024

Bradley Dean Gilbert, age 59, of West, passed away early Monday morning, February 12, 2024 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.


A rosary will be recited 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.


Brad was born June 9, 1964 in Waco, the son of Ronnie and Becky (Donnell) Gilbert. He attended Connally schools and was a 1983 graduate of West High School. On October 14, 2016 he was united in marriage to Amanda Gerik in Waco. Brad was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was currently working as a sales representative for Matheson Gas in Waco. Brad previously worked for Air Gas and Wards Liquor Store. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, watching sports, and playing fantasy football. Brad loved cooking, barbecuing and watching movies with his family and friends. He will surely be missed.


Brad is preceded in death by his father and brothers, Matthew Gilbert and Mike Lewis.


Survivors include his beloved wife of 8 years, Amanda Gilbert of West; his mother, Becky Gilbert of Waco; his son, Grant Gilbert; his step sons, Tyler Bettge and girlfriend Breanne Campos and Kevin Bettge and wife Kenna; his granddaughter, Karaline Bettge; two brothers, Ron Fangio and wife Enza of McKinney and Dr. Scott Lewis of Melbourne, Australia; a sister, Vicki Hurst and husband John of Waco; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Active pallbearers are Kevin Donnell, Bryan Anderson, Brian Jones, Kenny Duron, Clayton Merritt, Clayton Heitmiller, Doug Wolf, and Brett Donnell. Honorary pallbearers are past and present members of Two Creek Hunters.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Warrior Kids Foundation.
