Bobby Hurtt, age 54, of West, passed away Tuesday evening, May 19, 2009 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. Bobby was born October 20, 1954 in West, the son of Starlin and Nancy (Webb) Hurtt. He attended West Schools and on July 8, 1972 was united in marriage to Mary Weinberger in Tours. Bobby worked as a plumber and pipe fitter for the Local Unions #669 and #529 for the past 35 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead. Bobby enjoyed fishing, camping, water skiing, working on his Camaro, watching Nascar racing, and Harley motorcycles. He especially loved spending time with his family. His father and his father-in-law, Raymond Weinberger, preceded him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 36 years, Mary Hurtt of Waco; his mother, Nancy Hurtt of West; a son, Derrick Hurtt and wife Kimberly of West; a daughter, Shelly Stevens and husband Donnie of Waco; a sister, Charlotte Klaus and husband Eddie of West; four grandchildren, Hayley Stevens, Hayden Stevens, Khloey Hurtt, and Kinley Hurtt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Active pallbearers are Kyle Klaus, Thomas Lowe, Tim Lowe, Mike Adamson, Michael Weinberger, and John Weinberger. Honorary pallbearers are David Horton, Darrell Pippins, Jimmy Poston, Buddy Young, Todd Rorie, Vinion Williams, and Jim Woods. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
