Bobby Don Avants

A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Bobby was born May 25, 1958 in Waco, the son of Grady W. and Nadine (Kuydendall) Avants. He was a 1976 graduate of Lueders-Avoca High School in Avoca, TX. Bobby worked for Truckmotive in Waco for the past 36 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, watching the Dallas Cowboys and grilling on the pit. He especially loved spending time with his sons and was so looking forward to his new grandson. Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Grady W. Avants and a brother, Larry Avants. Survivors include his sons, Lance Avants of West and Shane Avants and wife Ashley of Waco; his mother, Nadine Kuydendall; a grandson on the way, Connor Christian Avants; the mother of his children, Theresa (Girard) Avants; brother, James Avants; sisters, Becky Thompson and husband Johnny and Pam Lowrey and husband Don; a step-brother, Steve Williams; and many other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Kurt Kunkel, Kevin Dobecka, Nathan Holecek, John Zanter Jr., Butch Jones, Rodney Fuller, Deryl Schlemmer and Gary Lynd. Honorary pallbearers are the Employees of Truckmotive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the charity of your choice.
