Bobbie Nell Rymer, age 90, of Melrose, Florida, a caring, matter-of-fact sister, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away early Thursday afternoon, August 5, 2021 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. A graveside celebration of life will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs. Mrs. Rymer will lie-in-state 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Bobbie was born March 10, 1931 in Bosque County, the daughter of Elbert Daniel and Lola Myrtis (Welborne) Sowell. She attended schools in Walnut Springs and was a graduate of Walnut Springs High School. On May 26, 1949 she was united in marriage to William Rymer in Glen Rose. William preceded her in death on September 19, 2003. Bobbie completed her nursing degree and worked as a Registered Nurse while raising her children. She enjoyed working on the small farm that they had while living in Granbury. Bobbie's hobbies included cooking, gardening, and genealogy. She passionately researched ancestry even into her final days and is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Alamo and Daughters of the Civil War, something she was incredibly proud of. Bobbie is also preceded in death by her parents and a half-brother, Delbert Spinks. Survivors include her children, Janice Ray and husband Rick of Dallas, Danny Rymer and wife Kathy of Whitney, and William Rymer and Gilbert Rymer, both of Melrose, FL; a sister, Jean McSpadden; two half-sisters, Lola McFarlin and husband Wayne and Margaret Parker and husband Lonnie; a half-brother, Freddy Spinks; grandchildren, Brandi Workman, Mellissa Vanburg, Jeremy Rymer, Amanda Joyal, Cynthia Brown, Mary Ann Ferris, and Richard Rymer; 14 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Workman, David Vanburg, Jeremy Rymer, and Dylan Eastwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Daughters of the American Revolution at www.dar.org or www.myasthenia.org (in Danny Rymer's name).
