Robert "Bob" Calabro, age 65, of Coppell, passed away Friday morning, December 31, 2021, at his home in Port Aransas. A rosary will be recited 1:30 p.m. prior to a Memorial Mass of Resurrection at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 10, 2022 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Coppell, with Rev. Samuel Martinez as celebrant. LIVE STREAM of the service will be provided by the church. The family will be gathering at Town Hall at 3111 Olympus Boulevard in Coppell and everyone is invited. Memorial Graveside Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2022 at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio. Bob was born June 17, 1956 in Queens, New York, the son of Frank and Frieda "Sue" (Maranda) Calabro. He was a 1974 graduate of Antonian College Preparatory High School in San Antonio and went on to receive a Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree from Texas State University in 1978. On June 27, 1992, he was united in marriage to Gina Scheler Grimm and was a member of St. Ann Catholic Parish in Coppell. Bob was a region sales manager for Icelandic Glacial Water since 2016. Prior to his retirement, he was a senior key account manager for Anheuser-Busch from 1979 to 2011. At his core, Bob was devoted to family and friends, relishing the gatherings that brought them together to share a meal, engage in lively conversation, and always enjoy a good laugh. His pride in his family was evident as he often expressed his excitement about the latest achievements of his children and the love he had for his wife Gina. Bob’s dedication to his profession was also well-known. If you were around Bob for a minute or two, you would most certainly learn the particulars of beer production and the benefits of Icelandic water. In his leisure time, Bob loved to travel near and far to enjoy life’s adventures from the ski slopes of Tahoe to the bustling streets of New York City….from Caribbean ocean cruises to a rural country village in Austria where he would connect with his ancestry. Most of all, Bob loved to escape to his beach house in Port Aransas where he found his own piece of paradise. Bob lived life fully, shared generously of his time and resources, and, finally, provided an enviable example of tenacity and courage in the face of fierce adversity. His was a life well lived. Survivors include his beloved wife of 29 years, Gina Calabro of Coppell; daughters, Corey Calabro and Cassidy Grimm Drenka and husband, Mark; and son Cole Calabro. Family members include Frank Calabro, Jan Ross and husband Jim, Mike Calabro and wife Michelle and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Antonian Alumni , Special Olympics or the charity of your choice.
