Bivian Wells "B.W." Cox Jr., age 92, of West, passed away Thursday evening, January 4, 2024 at West Rest Haven.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
B.W. was born October 28, 1931 in Waco, the son of Lyndal (Bunch) and Bivian Cox Sr. He attended schools in Waco, prior to attending the University of North Texas and Baylor University. On August 30, 1952 he was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Combs in Waco. Barbara Ann preceded him in death on March 25, 2019. B.W. was a member of the Aquilla Baptist Church and a former member of Cherokee Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He operated a dairy, was a rancher, owned a John Deere Dealership in Waco named Cox Machinery, started Cox Commission Company in West in 1973, and was a long haul truck driver until retiring in 2008. He enjoyed rodeo, steer wrestling, raising horses, and playing golf.
B.W. is also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Boyd Cox.
Survivors include his sons, Bivian W. Cox III and wife Glenna of Cedar Park, Hal Cox and wife Betty of West, and Clint Cox and wife Susan of Marble Falls; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Old Lebanon Cemetery Association.
