W.B. "Bill" Lucas, age 95, of Bullard, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. Bill was born April 26, 1924 in Gholson, the third child to Barney B. and Mary Jane (Ferguson) Lucas. He attended the old Tokio School near West. Bill served his country with the United States Army during World War II and was discharged as a Private in September of 1943. Upon his return, he worked at the West Cotton Mill. Bill was also a salesman all over Texas selling many things, such as automobiles and sewing machines. He enjoyed tinkering with many things, eating chocolate, and listening to country music, especially to his brother Tommys recordings. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernest, Ernest, Odell, E.J. and Tommy Ray Lucas; and sisters, Retia Lucas and Patricia Graham. Survivors include his children, Carolyn Powell and husband Glen of Ft. Worth, Bobby Lucas of Groesbeck, Linda Lucas of Groesbeck, and Billy Lucas of Donie; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
