Betty Lois Pogue, age 76, of Gholson, passed away early Thursday morning, January 7, 2021 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. ATTENTION CHANGE: Due to weather concerns, services for Betty Pogue have been changed to 11:00 a.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. James Stevens officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are required at all services. Betty was born August 28, 1944 in Waco, the daughter of the late Pete and Lucille (Mathis) Bolden. She attended schools in LaVega. On September 16, 1966 she was united in marriage to Bradley Pogue Sr. in Waco. Bradley preceded her in death on June 20, 2017. Betty was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. She worked for several area nursing homes and personal home health care facilities in West and Whitney for many years. Betty enjoyed eating Bush's ice while watching science fiction and western movies and reading her novels. She was a wonderful mother who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Spending time with her grandchildren was what she loved most of all, especially her side kick Elizabeth. Survivors include her children, Sheryl Reid and husband Scott of Gholson, Michael Pogue and wife Shawnette of Ross, Roger Pogue and wife Theresa of Chalk Bluff, and Brad Pogue Jr. and wife Melissa of West; a sister, Pat Perry and husband Richard; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kourtney, Kassidy, Randa, Brian, Connor, Haley, and Brandon; several great grandchildren; her dog, Monster; her cats, Butterball, Cinnamon, and Ittle Bitty; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
