Betty Jean Roberson, age 74, of China Spring, passed away early Monday morning, February 16, 2009 at Regent Care Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at White Rock Cemetery near Ross, with Pastor Judy Lewis officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mrs. Roberson was born on June 23, 1934 in Greenville, MS, the daughter of Earl and Lois (Sweet) McCollough. She attended schools in Downey, California. On April 1, 1961 she was united in marriage to Ronny Roberson in Juarez, Mexico. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1990. Betty was an independent long haul truck driver for over 15 years for Frazier Brothers and Ronny Roberson Trucking in Nogales, Arizona until her retirement in 1979. She enjoyed going to the bowling alley, embroidering, fishing, and making divinity and banana nut bread. Survivors include one son, Richard Hensley and wife Sharon of Swansea, South Carolina; two daughters Candy Banks and friend George Eleazar of Irmo, South Carolina and Ronna Witt and husband Nathaniel "N.C." of China Spring; one sister, Catherine Mayden of Corbet, Oregon; four grandchildren, Leslie, Jan, Stasha, and Ania; one step grandson, Billy; two great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Regent Care Center and Providence Hospice for the dedicated care they gave Betty.
