Betty Jean Colston

Betty Jean Colston, age 57, of West, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 7, 2009 at her residence. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Sam Armstrong officiating. Betty Jean was born on October 8, 1951 in Victoria, the daughter of William and Blasa (Banda) Colston. She attended Victoria schools and graduated from Victoria High School in 1970. She then attended Victoria College and graduated from the University of Houston with a Degree in Education. Betty Jean taught Spanish for high schools in Victoria, West and Bryan. She attended Elm Mott Church of Christ. Betty Jean enjoyed going to the drag races at Prairie Hill and attending car shows. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her fianc, Thomas Woodward of West; a daughter, Stefanie Baxley and husband Brannon of Victoria; two granddaughters, Skylar and Peyton Baxley; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
