Betty Grudziecki

Betty Jean Grudziecki, age 90, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 4, 2023 at West Rest Haven.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2023 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Gary Wines officiating. Burial will follow at Gerald Cemetery near Leroy. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West.

Betty was born June 22, 1933 in West, the daughter of Herman and Marie (Lehmann) Drews. She was a 1951 graduate of West High School. On June 26, 1954 she was united in marriage to Frank Grudziecki in Gerald. Frank preceded her in death on January 2, 1999. Betty was a very faithful member of The Leroy Church where she sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School, taught Vacation Bible School, and was a member of the Women's Guild. She was also a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star Chapter #980 in Bellmead. Betty worked for the McLennan County Tax Appraisal District for 29 years before retiring in 1992. Betty enjoyed tending to her farm and cattle, traveling, and playing games with her sister, Wilma. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty is also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Louise Schuetz and Wilma Monthie; and her son-in-law, John McVay.

Survivors include her daughters, Deborah McVay of Allen, Susie Holecek and husband E.J. of West, and Tammie Webster of Frisco; her grandchildren, John McVay Jr., Laura Frank and husband Jason, Samantha MacFarlane and husband Jacob, Jeremy McVay, and Brooke Webster; her great grandchildren, Alexa, Caitlyn, and Zachariah; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Danny Bode, Donny Bode, Mike Otto, David Otto, Lynn Schuetz, and Ricky Monthie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leroy Church, Gerald Cemetery Association, or the Order Of The Eastern Star Chapter #980 in Bellmead.
