Beth Kuykendall Taylor Land

Elizabeth (Taylor) Kuykendall Land, age 89, of Leroy, passed away early Friday afternoon, October 30, 2015 at Wesley Woods Care Center in Waco. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at The Leroy Church with Rev. Todd Ewing officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until service time at the church. Beth was born April 23, 1926 in Leroy, the daughter of Herbert R. and Willie (DeBrock) Taylor. She attended schools in Leroy and was a 1944 graduate of West High School. Beth then attended 4-C Business College in Waco. In August of 1950 she was united in marriage to James "Buddy" Kuykendall in Waco. Buddy preceded her in death on June 20, 1972. Then in September of1983, she was united in marriage to Richard A. Oliver. Richard also preceded her in death on October 31, 1999. She then was united in marriage to Oron Land in April of 2000. Oron also preceded her in death on April 10, 2009. Elizabeth worked as the logistics coordinator for Central Texas Iron Works for over 25 years until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of The Leroy Church. She did craft shows, where she and Richard were known as "Mr. Wood." Elizabeth enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, going to Canton, playing games, dancing and going to Las Vegas and playing the nickel slots. She especially loved spending time with family and friends. Beth is also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Vivian Taylor and Susie Stewart; brother, Richard Taylor; and several brothers-in-law. Survivors include her daughter, Denise Clifton and husband Larry of Leroy; sisters, Magdelene Morris, Polly Ewing, Ruth Harrell and Ida Wines and her husband Gary; granddaughters Crystal Rumer and husband Rick, Candyce Perry and husband Marshal and Kamille Clifton; great grandchildren, Blake and Clifton Perry and Crosby and Halle Rumer; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley Woods Care Center, Providence Hospice or West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
