Bessie (Matula) Rejcek, age 81, of West, passed away early Wednesday afternoon, June 30, 2010 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home by Janice Kaluza, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Rejcek was born August 3, 1928 in Ross, the daughter of John and Catherine (Kracmir) Matula. She attended Ross schools and on May 8, 1954 was united in marriage to Albert B. Rejcek in Penelope. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1980. Bessie was a professional seamstress working for Lorch Manufacturing, Wolf Manufacturing, and Hubbard Manufacturing. She was also a baker for Czech Stop for over 20 years before retiring in 2008. Bessie was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughter of America Court No. 829, Altar Society, and formerly the K.J.Z.T. Society in Penelope. Bessie enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking Sunday dinners, and loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Her parents; two brothers, Rudolf Matula and Toby Matula Sr.; and two sisters, Katherine Gallia and an infant, Edith Matula, also preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Barak and husband Gerald and Johnie Glomb and husband David, all of Tours and Terri Tobola and husband Jeff of West; two sons, Albert Rejcek and wife Kathy of West and Harry Rejcek and wife Linda of Waco; a brother-in-law, Pete Gallia Sr.; a sister-in-law, Ruby Matula; 12 grandchildren, Aaron Barak, Jennifer Barak, Kimberly Barak, Kristi Glomb, Kevin Glomb, Haden Tobola, Mason Tobola, Amanda Peery and husband Zeb, Eric Rejcek and wife Macy, Brannon Rejcek, Chastity Rejcek and Cody Rejcek; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Aaron Barak, Kristi Glomb, Amanda Peery, Kevin Glomb, Jennifer Barak, Eric Rejcek, Kimberly Barak, Haden Tobola, and Mason Tobola. Honorary pallbearers are David Glomb, Jeff Tobola, Gerald Barak, Kathy Rejcek, Zeb Peery, Macy Rejcek, Pete Gallia Sr., Pete Joe Gallia, Teddy Gallia, Lawrence Rejcek, Shawn Rejcek, and Toby Matula. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund or St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
