Bess Holt Page

Bess Holt Page, age 82, of Waco, went to be with her Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning, November 19, 2013 at Crestview Manor in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Axtell Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday at the church. Bess was born July 31, 1931 in Como, MS the daughter of Odis and Louise (Fitts) Ford. She attended schools in Waco and was a graduate of Waco High School and 4-C Business College. She was united in marriage to John Holt on June 7, 1958 in Oakland, CA. John preceded her in death on January 10, 1998. She was then united in marriage to Ed Page on August 16, 2009 in Tokio. Bess was a Financial Aid Administrator for several colleges including T.S.T.I., Baylor and the University of New Orleans. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of West and Tokio Baptist Church. Bess was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Ford and James Ford and sister, Rosemary Breedlove. Survivors include her husband, Ed Page of Waco; sons, Philip W. Holt and wife Suzanne of West, Wesley Holt and wife Melissa of Elm Mott and John E. Holt of Memphis, TN; a step daughter, Jackie Stewart of Waco; stepsons, Rev. Michael Page and wife DeeAnn of Lubbock and Timothy Page and wife Heidie of Bentonville, AR; sister, Evelyn Stowers and husband Floyd; grandchildren, Heather Holt, Tyler Holt and Alyssa Holt; 8 step grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; a step great great granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Tyler Holt, Alyssa Holt, Heather Holt, Floyd Stowers, Clint Ford and Trevor McLearen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
